Welcome to the community bulletin board, which is a page used for announcements from WikiProjects and other groups. Included here are coordinated efforts, events, projects, and other general announcements.

Yearly or infrequent events
- The 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest is an editing competition with a focus towards developing countries. It will begin on July 1st and signups will close on July 15th. Sign up now!
- Want to help good articles get better? Sign up for the July Good Article backlog drive! New and experienced reviewers welcome.
Monthly or continuous events
- Monthly contest, WikiProject Military history. The contest department of the Military history WikiProject aims to motivate increased quality in military history articles by offering a form of friendly competition for project members making improvements to them. The primary contest available is a simple rolling competition that awards points for improving articles. The contest runs from the first to last day of each month.
- Guild of Copy Editors' editing blitz. The August 2024 editing blitz is a one-week-long effort by the Guild of Copy Editors to reduce its backlog. The themes arre: articles on the GOCE Requests page from May and June 2024, and articles on the May 2023 and June 2023 backlog. It will begin on 18 August, 00:00 (UTC), and end on 24 August, 23:59 (UTC).

Feature news
- AbuseFilter editors and maintainers can now make a CAPTCHA show if a filter matches an edit. This allows communities to quickly respond to spamming by automated bots. [1]
- Stewards can now specify if global blocks should prevent account creation. Before this change by the Trust and Safety Product Team, all global blocks would prevent account creation. This will allow stewards to reduce the unintended side-effects of global blocks on IP addresses.
Project updates
- Nominations are open on Wikitech for new members to refresh the Toolforge standards committee. The committee oversees the Toolforge Right to fork policy and Abandoned tool policy among other duties. Nominations will remain open until at least 2024-08-26.
- One new wiki has been created: a Wikipedia in West Coast Bajau (
